Personal Immigration
Do you and/or your family need advice on how to move to Canada? We specialize in temporary residence, permanent residence and citizenship, and can help you with all of your Canadian immigration needs.
Temporary Residence
We offer comprehensive services for temporary immigration matters including advice and counsel for:
Work Permits – Work Permits allow a foreign national to enter the Canadian labour market. Work Permits are often employer specific and based on job offers, but some individuals are entitled to open work permits, which allow them to work for any employer for the duration of the permit.
Temporary Resident Visas – A temporary resident visa (TRV) is an official counterfoil document issued by a visa office that is placed in a person’s passport to show that they have met the requirements for admission to Canada as a temporary resident.
Study Permits – Study Permits allow foreign nationals to study in Canada. To be eligible, the foreign national must provide proof of acceptance into an approved institution and evidence of the required funds, amongst other documentation. Some students will be eligible for open work permits upon completion of their studies.
Business Visitors – A Business Visitor may be able to enter Canada for business purposes, provided they will not enter the Canadian labour market and will not conduct any work or work-related activities.
Visitor Visas – A Visitor Visa allows a foreign national to visit Canada as a tourist. Foreign nationals who require a visa to enter Canada should apply for this document prior to entering Canada. Visitors from countries which are visa exempt may not need to apply for a visitor visa.
Super Visas for Parents and Grandparents – The Super Visa is an extended Visitor Visa which is available to parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens and permanent residents. It permits them to visit family in Canada for up to two (2) years without having to renew their status.
CUSMA / USMCA / T-MEC professionals – In Canada, CUSMA facilitates temporary entry for business persons who are citizens of the U.S. or Mexico and who are involved in the trade of goods or services, or in investment activities. For all business persons covered by the Agreement, there is no need for a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA).
Labour Market Impacts Assessments – The Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) is an application by an employer to Service Canada to assess whether or not there is a labour market shortage in the occupation in which they wish to hire a foreign national.
Global Talent Stream – The Global Talent Stream allows certain skilled workers to obtain a Labour Market Impact Assessment and/or a work permit within two (2) weeks of applying. It is one of the pillars of Canada’s Global Skills Strategy, which aims to help innovative companies grow by ensuring they can access the highly skilled talent they need quickly.
